This is the sound my computer's fan made, recorded with my laptop. Apparently, this fan is crapping out and goes haywire after less than ten minutes. I will have to get a new one, but the sound may be useful for people who need examples of a loud, broken pc fan. Again, recorded with laptop, not best quality. This is a sound in the creative commons, and i am giving up my rights to this sound as it is a sound every pc makes, and it's intended use is to allow everyone an example of a broken pc fan.

Recorded with: zoom h6 "handy recorder" lom úcho (ultrasonic omnidirectional microphone from slovakia!). A pouring of a drink with carbonation (fancy sparkling water). The reason it is monoaural is because it is easier to record singular sources in monoaural without having too much stereo variance in the recording which can if improperly recorded cause clipped audio on one side of the channel (though this reduces the width and dimensionality of a sound sample - this also makes it easier for (independent) game developers and film projects to place the sound.

i'll do it your way. he should know by now. I'll never do anything any way but my own. This is usable because it is non-specific to outcome, and what came next. I don't care for those warning flags, and providing more might get one. But i gotta tell you. You just can't make that much racket on a train. For heaven's sake there are people around. ;-d. And no. He was not ready.

This is a recording of purchasing items at a checkout in a supermarket, including ambient sounds. There is one line of the slovak language spoken by the cashier, but there is plenty of space to remove it or add your own voices to the clip. This was recorded in-person with a tascam dr-40 stereo recorder. Public domain: i have released this audio file into the public domain. It is free for anyone to download, modify, or use without my consent and without attribution - like all freesound audio files should be. Enjoy!.

I got a weird story for this one! i took a machine sound from my grandpa's workshop, overloaded it with flanger so it didn't even sound like a machine anymore, got a little snippet of the sound, pitch shifted it up, and repeated it, eqed it, and added some reverb. (the machine didn't have anything do do with it btw. You can do this with any sound. ) hope you guys enjoy this sound. Feel free to use this anywhere you want. :).

Crude arpeggio and single note taps of the inner strings of an early-20th-century chas m. Stieff upright piano. This particular model was made in baltimore and spent most of its life in the lobby of the willard intercontinental hotel in d. C. , and the last 30 years in our home in fairfax, virginia. We are dismantling part of the piano to repair, clean, and, unfortunately, sell it. The mechanism for one note is the only problem, and, of course, it needs tuning. Anyone willing to give this a good home?.

This is a 4 mic recording taken inside a pachinko parlor in akasaka, tokyo. There are so many loud machines and the background music is so loud that you can hardly make out individual sounds and the entire space is just a wash of noise. If you listen closely to this one you can hear some of the individual balls dropping. (when you play pachinko, you win metal balls which can be exchanged for cash later. ).

Subways in nyc don't usually get quiet. Somehow i found myself on a quiet train from new york to new jersey, not one vocal, apart from the public service announcement. Lots of what you'd expect from a train ride: squealing, screeching, rocking, and i got lucky as many stops and starts. Taken at 44. 1, with the fire app on an iphone 4. Don't doubt those little guys.

Simple patch. Two oscillators, ring modulation, lfos, vcas and digital effects. No spring reverb this time. Important module is the clock divider. The oscillators where tuned to the same tone one octave apart. Well. . . Not exactly. After having recorded i measured the frequencies 228,8 hz and 117,7 hz. . . But that made the output from the ring modulator interesting. What is generative with this? i modulate amplitude of the sounds and the decay for all thee sounds. This also affects the rhythm sound.

Recorded in july of 2019 at blue cliff monastery (pine bush, ny) using a zoom h1n and 3dio fs binaural microphone. At 9:30 p. M the"great togetherness meditation hall" was empty except for two meditators (one of whom can be heard leaving about three and a half minutes into the recording). The natural creaking of the building can be heard throughout. Additional sounds include outside crickets, cars passing on a nearby road, and an occasional airplane. The track volume was maximized using goldwave.

A reproduction of the opening electric guitar riff from marius constant's twilight zone theme (used in season 2 and later). I obtained some info about this arrangement from reading bill wrobel's film score rundown website, which has a detailed description of both the bernard herrmann and marius constant twilight zone themes. I played this into logic pro using the "classic clean" guitar sound. One guitar is playing bb bb bb bb and the other guitar is playing g# a g# e (repeated).

. Welcome to the roots messenger multiverse. This is a september 24th 2013 field-recording, which i took in heidelberg's old citycenter in the late afternoon, while working at the heidelberg laureate forum 2013. You will hear a general streetnoise with motorbikes/cars passing by, people talking and laughing and finally a beautiful streetmusician's flute and singing by one of his collegues. All my recordings are stereo, recorded with zoom h2. To be continued. . .

I created a chip track to which i added a reverbation effect. I copied it and then rendered both onto a new track. Reusing the same sound , i lengthened the tempo and increased the pitch on the second one. I then reused it a few times to imitate the sound of the ball bouncing off the table, speeding up the tempo and adding a fade out effect. Ok, i don't know how many of you might be interested in this, but i figure there's no harm in posting it. I'm working on some original songs. Laptop-based, electronic songs, with many orchestral parts, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Presonus studio one has some very nice vst string instruments, and i have some really great ones for kontakt. But they all are missing one thing, and i couldn't find the (admittedly esoteric) sound that i'm looking for anywhere on the internet. Being a viola player myself, i recorded myself playing these very particular incidental sounds. Let me explain-. There's this 'grabby' sound that a well-rosined bow makes just is it is first being drawn across the string. Listen carefully to any of the pros and you'll hear it. In your laptop sequences, if used subtly, right at the point where the first note of a phrase is initiated, this sound can give the string part a marked sense of realism*. This, combined with vibrato, reverb and a nice warm/tube/tape saturation setting, nobody will be able to tell the difference between your vst and the real thing. About the audio-i tried to keep them as pitchless as possible, thus not limiting their utility. I recorded two sets of all four open strings (c, g, d, a), first close mic'ed, and once from a few feet away, in stereo. Or to say it another way, the sounds are as follows-1. Open c close2. Open g close3. Open d close4. Open a close5. Open c far6. Open g far7. Open d far8. Open a far. It's totally overkill for me to record all the different versions, but i suppose somebody out there might find one more appropriate than another for their purposes. They work pretty effortlessly for violin and viola, but you might have to pitch them down for cello and string bass. I added no processing whatsoever, apart from normalizing each individual sound. Aiff, recorded at 44/16. Nady scm-2090 stereo condenser mic, focusrite saffire pro 24 interface, recorded in logic. Not the quietest room, but these sounds will be so far down in the mix that it won't matter. Free for all to download, no attribution necessary. Http://www. Freesound. Org/people/bruce%20burbank/sounds/220917/. As an example, here's the part i'm working on that motivated me to record these sounds, with the grabby sound in place. See if you can spot the three times i used it. *pro tip- much the same way i'll insert an inhale breath right before horn or oboe phrases.

It's ranging form whisper to shout. Recorded with a zoom h2 on a mic stand. Originally wav 96khz/24-bit. It was silence-truncated with audacity and normalized. Ps:. Variation of the loop from:http://www. Freesound. Org/people/maxndee/sounds/106962/. Placed each hit on beat of 125, then put it through a saw tooth transformer, then slight reverb and compression. Other little details like raising one side by 2 decibels to even things out. Also, arranged the rhythm according to a phrase i thought made some more sense, added a couple of variation percs of my own to fill in the gaps. Put either a different eq on them or changed the pitch. Enjoy.

I am studying to become a sound designer and if you like sounds like this i have very many in my soundbanks. 100 % made by me.

Captured at the brand-new castletown branch of sainsbury's. Another of those mindless public safety announcements played at either end of a moving walkway. This time, members of the public are asked to be prepared to get their trolley off the walkway. In surveying the scene, it occurred to me that there was also no other choice! one could, i suppose, deliberately come to a screeching halt immediately after disembarking and my late mother-in-law would have been somebody who did just that! so, i suppose there's some point this after all!.

This is a repost of beerbottlewhoo. Ogg. It's the same sound except that this one is in wav format. Glass beer bottle blow sounding like the background "whoo" effect in the movies alien and blade runner. Mono. Old school spot effect. Helmholtz resonance using a partially-filled (for pitch tuning) glass beer bottle. The resulting tone was sampled, bandpass filtered, pitch bent and laid over a copy of the original sample. Reverb added post-effect to push the sound back and smooth out some nasty quantizing artefacts caused by the pitch bender.

A patch with nonlinearcircuits jerkoff ("chaos circuit based on the jerk equation and its electronic implementation by jc sprott") in the center. I had a question that needed an answer. Is jerkoff a stable lfo when not using the input to disturb the rythm?my answer is. It can be relatively stable, but sometimes it is wobbling around. The recording is from a wobbly jerkoff. One output to osc cv in and another to a vcf vc in. The third output goes to a comparator. The comparator generates a trigger every time the cv is passing the threshold level.

This is the original, unrestored file. "Shine On, Harvest Moon", by husband-and-wife songwriting team Jack Norworth and Nora Bayes was one of the big hits of the 1908 Ziegfield Follies, and remains well-known to this day. This recording from 1909 features two of the biggest stars of early-twentieth-century America, Ada Jones and Billy Murray. Produced by Edison Records, this is Edison Standard Record #10134.

(recorder: zoomh4npro 2018)(microphones: binaural roland cs-10em in-ear monitors). As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. Wow, this is a long one. . . But a good one. Let me set the scene for this audio because i am a nerd. . . Burbank, california. A large apartment/condominium complex with an open courtyard and a swimming pool and hot tub. Now, for some reason in la, nobody ever seems to actually use pools or hot tubs anymore so it's not hard to get clean audio. So, from beginning to end you will basically hear me turn the automatic shutoff dial on the wall, walk to the hot tub, get in the hot tub, and sit in various positions for extended periods of time. I was alone for the entire experience (wife was at work) and nobody joined. It's very clean audio and safe for all production. Recorded on 11/20/2018 in burbank, ca. Enjoy,. Christopher c. Courter.

A recording of a manual typewriter. The author is inserting paper, typing a paragraph, and then removing the paper. Sound of paper being inserted into the typewriter using the paper platen winder. Then the sound of typing of about 50 words. A small bell sound is heard at the end of each line, then the sound of the platen being pushed back to start the next line, and the platen moving the paper up one line. The sample ends with the sound of the paper being wound through the typewriter and removed. I have tried to avoid clipping of each typed letter. There is a lot of percussive multi pitch sound in each typed letter. There is a mechanical escapement that provides a clicking sound as the platen is moved back for the next line. This sample was recorded direct to the hard drive of this samsung nc10 netbook using audacity set to 44. 1khz and 16 bit in mono. A dynamic microphone was used on a small desk stand about 1 foot (30cm) from the typewriter, the stand being on a different table to the one on which the typewriter was used. The microphone was a fairly cheap make (hitachi hmp606) and was pre-amplified using a maycom mictube preamplifier built into the xlr connector, connected to the mic in port of the samsung nc10 netbook. The mic boost was reduced to zero, and the gain of the maycom preamp was at its lowest setting.

Midnight recording from the streets of neukölln, berlin, on new years day 2009. In germany, this is the one day of the year when members of the general public are allowed to set off fireworks. Echoes of bombs and fusillades ring out across the city, while clouds of smoke tumble menacingly through the streets. Close by, a peaceful child sets off sparklers, and is astonished by the display. In the morning, the streets are littered with their remnants -- charred bits of paper, streaks of red ash. Recorded with an edirol r-09. From a contemporaneous news report:. "clashes in three german cities marred new year celebrations, with police facing their toughest challenge from a crowd of mostly young revellers in the capital berlin in the small hours of yesterday. One small breakaway group from that crowd, which numbered 1,000 at the peak, tried to fire a skyrocket inside a police station and invade it, police spokesman frank millert said. The rocket lodged in a broken window and burned itself out, but several police were injured by the flying glass. Police arrested three on arson charges. Earlier, elements from the same crowd in the prenzlauer berg district had smashed the windows of a passing tram and bombarded a police patrol car with firecrackers. The trouble abated about 3am. ".

Processed kick with good transientmade with ableton and been tested with monitors, its been eq'd and a compressed. This sound it at -0. 1db instead of 0. 0 so it's definitely not clipping. The sub of the kick is made in ni massive and then processed with all most every plugin i have. I took surprisingly long to make because it was originally meant to be secret for one of my own tracks but i never really used it so it has a lot of hidden detail that is just waiting to be downloaded lol.

At cmu, there is a building with a really long hallway that has amazing acoustics. In this experiment, i set up a feedback loop. On one end of the hallway, there is a microphone connected to a laptop. On the other end, there is a speaker connected to another laptop. The two laptops are connected via skype calling. I play with my speaker's built in eq, and play my violin to stimulate the resonant frequencies of the hall. A better set up would be to use better equipment directly connected to each other, and have a stand-alone eq to independently control what resonant frequencies are playing.

I recorded this sound at 1bit/2. 8mhz (dsd) and converted it into 24bit/44. 1khz (pcm). If you could listen to the raw dsd file, you might think you were here with me. Unfortunately, i can't upload dsd version, so i chose 24bit pcm for keeping better quality. Reality was lost to some extent, but i think you can feel the touch of the original one.

This was recorded while sitting in a closet during a tornado warning as a thunder-storm raged outside the house. It was recorded on april 28, 2020 in tulsa, oklahoma. There are several very low frequency booms from the deep thunder. You can hear the faint sound of tornado sirens blaring outside. There is also the intermittent sound of panicked breathing by one of the two dogs that were also riding out the storm, sheltered in the closet. A thunderbolt rattles some wood hangers on the hanger rod.
